Happiness is a very abstract noun. It is very difficult to feel and measure, because of different people, it has different definition. For me, happiness is health, wealth, success, and love.
I agree with your opinion. If we have four "Happiness sources" as you mentioned - health, wealth, success, and love - there will be no patheric people and it's going to be heaven.Unfortunately, this world is not as generous as we expect, so we pursue the happiness resources in order to be happy...

This is very good definition. Different people have different ideas for happiness whose definition is about what are you concern about.
Of cource I can't have all of them at the same time.If I can get the them at once, I will the happinest in my life,though it is just one day.
